Three Named as Finalists for Young Sports Personality Award

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.
The three finalists have been recognised for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the very first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a historic innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his remarkable rise.
The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a widely-listened-to radio show.
The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th.
The ceremony will be televised from seven in the evening GMT.
Agyemang's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Just three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She entered the fray to score key tying goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.
Her incredible contributions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"Being nominated for this award is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."
Luke Littler
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
Littler's 2025 began in incredible form as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
His success continued - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, shattering the previous record.
"Being nominated for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and surged to prominence with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin finished second in the batting rankings and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm deeply humbled to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it motivates more young females to get into cricket."
