Raducanu made it to the third stage in three of the four Grand Slam events during the season.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in the last two tournaments of the year due to a medical condition she has been fighting for the last week and a half.

Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to rest and recuperate prior to beginning her preparations for 2026.

Her upcoming training are set to feature trainer Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together in 2026.

Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

Another medical visit was necessary a doctor's assessment at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

Raducanu was also moving far from freely in the third set in the match with Zhu because of the lower back problem that has been a concern during parts of the season.

Such performances signaled a promising season, in which she climbed into the world's top 30 for the first time in more than three years, concluded with three straight losses.

Raducanu had three match points before losing to Jessica Pegula in round three in last month's Beijing event.

Raducanu won 28 matches during 2025 and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami Open in March.

Ranked first in Britain advanced to the quarters of this WTA 1000 tournament, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament before losing in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She was coached by Mark Petchey as coach from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role in time for the US Open.

The initial agreement with the former trainer of Nadal was until the end of the season but they will keep working together, with a training session scheduled late this year.

Raducanu told that the trial session with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She nearly succeeded to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati in August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
