Football Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts
Arsenal's ten-match victorious run was ended by Sunderland prior to the global break, but can the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.
In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is out on Friday.
Football and Family Experiences
Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.
"I won't force football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football side," he said.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a period too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for several years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to be patient for their star's return from fitness issues but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
I still think this game will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.
The Hammers' sole on the road win this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno was still Forest manager.
So, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?
I will go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.
A family member advised me to select Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are always strong at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.
Fulham have have plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.
Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.
The away side's performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.
But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their good results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.
Looking at Fulham's home record, the sole side they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

It is a hard one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
